China Habits

Habit could cause by culture, practice or beliefs but most important childhood education. No one is born to be bad or good guy, unless you are born to be Satan then ask Jesus to help you but not me. Sometimes could be the social surroundings misleading them difficult to differentiate between right or wrong, good or bad in their judgement. Maturity plays an important role but friends and family influence and environment are just encouragement to act only if his will is determined to resist against evil!

Locals always watch 1 direction when crossing the road, why? In law, whenever there is a car accident happened even the pedestrian illegal trespassing the penalty still on the car driver. The compensation has no standard measurement and could go as high as lifetime living expenses if he become disabled. Have you seen zebra-crossing drawn on highway or expressway? There are many in China, maybe too expensive to construct  a flyover or traffic light or maybe the construction fees already eaten by officer. Lack of education also causes the locals less sensitive to danger and always thinks that car would give courtesy to pedestrian and car driver always bully the weaklings. Is it very ironic? Also there is no “P” plate in China maybe now some urban areas already carried out but eventough they do other car drivers would not give way, and the “P” driver would also not lose face to others  putting “P” plate to give warnings. In Australia, is always an advantage putting “P” plate as Aussie always give way to you and Chinese always take advantage on their sympathy courtesy eventough they pass their probation! Is it smart or cunning? If you come to China watch closely on how local dogs crossing the road, a typical role model as the locals only watch 1 direction after my survey on 10 out of 10 dogs having the same habit!

Spitting and throwing rubbish is the local culture, why? This is to create more job opportunities to cleaners! No transgresses people how would government spend so much money to build Beijing Olympics’ image during economic crises but at the same time benefits the locals on job opportunity? Advertising agency could also earns money promoting campaign on “Clean” Beijing. No crime offender where got police! This is a social cultural cycle that goes to spitting. Is it because the locals are very talkative creating lots of phlegm? Or they smoke too much spitting could helps getting rid of the smell? Maybe drinking too much through spitting could helps getting rid the unpleasant taste from their mouth cavity? If you dont spit the only way is to use tissue wrap it up like dumplings “云吞” but tissue very expensive so alternatively swallow it, so disgusting! Hence the locals rather spit, why so troublesome and bother others hygiene and courtesy! Gals usually dont spit because of image but when a couple goes out could minimise spitting because guys always chase gals, think about it.

So my endings on habits is always “Good companions have good influence while bad ones have bad influence” (近朱者赤，近墨者黑)! Do you think the genius will crowd into the morons or vice versa? What about convicts playing basketball everyday with police? Would a millionaire having lunch everyday with beggars? Therefore one must determined which category or class you are in and you would be influenced and mastered their habits. By the way I do spit, because I have to adapt China’s culture and living, “Sorry”.
